The Valuation Office Agency The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) is part of the Inland Revenue and is independent from the council. Its officers will set a rateable value (RV) for each non-domestic property.
The RV is broadly based on the yearly rent that could be received for the property if it were let on the open market on a particular date, which may not be the same as the rent you actually pay. This amount is revalued every five years and the next one is due in April 2010.
The business rate section will be able to provide you with the RV for your property and the multiplier. It will also be shown on your bill.  You may also use this link to visit the business rates website.
You can also get rateable value information from the VOA. Please visit the Valuation Office Agency's website, where you will be able to view the value for your property as well as others in your area. You will also be able to submit an online appeal.
