SeatwiseDid you know?
- 75 to 80% of child restraints in use today are not correctly fitted in the vehicle
- 90% of child fatalities could be avoided if children were correctly harnessed
- A total of 141 children were killed and 3,472 children seriously injured on UK roads in 2005
What is seatwise?
Seatwise is a child car seat safety scheme run by Southwark Council's trading standards team.
The purpose of the scheme is to enable the public to receive free fitting, checking and advice from any member of the scheme, or from our own in house experts. Employees from participating local businesses plus two of our own officers have received specialist training in the correct fitting of child car seats, organised and paid for by us.
How do I arrange a seat fitting?
For further information on the scheme or to book a fitting, please contact either Andy Jeffrey, Hedley Setahul or Dave Read at the call centre on 020 7525 2000.
Or, you can contact one of our members listed below.
