Highways LicencesLicences for scaffolding, gantries, hoarding and temporary cross-overs are issued by the Highways Section and not the Licensing Unit. These licences are normally issued to building and construction companies.
Please note that applicants for scaffold and/or gantry licences must ensure they conform to BS ISO 5973:1993 and BS ISO 5975:1996.
How to apply
Click here to download the Highways Licences application form in PDF format.
The form has 3 sections and consists of 2 A4 size pages. Applicants should complete Section A of the form and then return both pages to the address in the top right hand corner of the form.
The Highways Inspector will complete Section B and return the form to the applicant with a quote for the licence deposit fee.
If the applicant accepts the quote, they should complete Section C of the form and return it to the Highways Inspector with a cheque for the amount quoted. Cheques should be made payable to Southwark Council.
