Motor Salvage Operators

This licence applies to any motor salvage operator (MSO) that carry out any of the following activities

• Using a premises within Southwark, wholly or partly in the recovery for re-use or sale of salvagable parts for motor vehicles
• Wholly or mainly purchasing written-off vehicles and subsequently repairing and re-selling them
• Wholly or mainly purchasing motor vehicles, which are to be the subject of any of the previous points mentioned.

Please note that a declaration of convictions form (61kb) must be completed along with your application form. For more information on the application process, please refer to the guidance notes (38kb).

It is an offence to operate an MSO that has not been registered with Southwark Council.  Summary conviction of this offence may lead to a fine of up to £5,000 on the standard scale.
