Charity Collections

Obtaining a charity collection license

The office of the Mayor of Southwark has the responsibility for supporting charity collection licenses that are then issued by the Metropolitan Police. Only 4 or 5 of these licenses are granted in the borough each year. Licenses to collect are normally granted six months in advance, so please plan ahead.

There are two types of charity collection covered by these licenses, street collection and door to door collection. In either case you must put your request in writing including:

  • Charity's name
  • Date of collection
  • Location of collection

Send this to:
