If you wish to hire a skip, please contact our call centre 020 7525 2000 or email environment@southwark.gov.uk
Businesses
If you operate a skip hire business and wish to place a builder's skip on any part of the highway in Southwark, you must apply to us for a skip licence. It is an offence under The Highways Act to place an unlicensed skip on the highway.
Please note that it is not the responsibility of the householder or the builders to obtain the skip licence. The company that owns the skip is responsible for applying for and obtaining a valid skip licence.
The skip owner is also responsible for ensuring that skips are properly positioned on the highway so that they do not cause an obstruction to other road users and that all appropriate regulations are adhered to.
