Gambling Act 2005

On December 6 2006, the council assembly approved the Southwark Statement of Gambling Licensing policy. This is to prepare for implementation of the Gambling Act 2005 in 2007.

This policy sets out how the council intends to approach its new responsibilities for the licensing of gambling premises and the issue of a range of related permits.

The policy was put together following public consultation in the summer of 2006. The publication is the first step in preparing for the introduction of the new gambling licensing regime.
